It has been a few months since the two were assigned work for the Mandalorian clan. At some point Ildiko did find some information on Ashden’s bounty and so far it was a lot greater than they had imagined. The young mother wouldn't clarify what she did as she was too scared to admit anything for a while, although some were beginning to suspect it has something to do with her acquired wealth. But in the meantime it was best for Ashden to stay on the ship.
Ashden's skills as an accountant were put into good use, and Rochelle assisting the Mandalorians from machinery to bodyguarding was enough to keep her busy during their space travels around the systems. Living in this state wasn't too bad for the two.
However somewhere during that time Ashden had grown wary. Her dreams will occasionally turn into nightmares that woke her up at night. They were more like a vivid flashback of the unfaithful encounter, walking in on a group of Mandalorian Crusaders executing a captured Zygerrian slaver. Over and over again.
The imagery made her ill, constantly questioning in siding with these people. There is still a lot of uncertainty if working with this clan was a ploy to have her children to grow up as these people… these murderous warriors. And then one day, Ashden had enough.
“I’m sorry! But I don’t want to stay here!” Ashden said one morning with Rochelle, which was dumbfounded by her decision.
“Are you out of your mind?” Rochelle said while both of her hands was on Ashden’s shoulders “Look at the size of you, where are you planning to go like this?!”
Ashden tries not to be emotional as she said these words “I don’t know, but I don’t feel safe here anymore! This is not the life I want to live in, nor for my kids.”
“I get it” Rochelle grit her teeth “Believe me I am the least interested in this Mandalorian ordeal. But we are still not in the clear. So until then, please…”
“Don't say it…”
“Remember our promise, okay?”
“I will try…” Ashden tries to hold the little pride she has. Now she really wants to cry.
All I can say is, this drawing was already done along time ago, as well as the story. So basically I seem to forget to share this, whoops! On the bright side, happy star wars day!
Now then, there was a little project that was being worked on in the background. It's related to a nelvaanian mom that I shared a few months ago that suggests there was something more to her story. Well here we have a collaborative effort with
snowpirate-101 and
gothia1565 for almost a year! All for free to enjoy! Expect more artworks with little stories attached to them in the following weeks.
