Its All in the Cards (Ranger Giftart)
Gosh I'm tired. XP Its about... *checks* 3:30 in the morning, my family's being completely stupid (per usual) so I can't get to sleep, and I know there's next to no chance of me getting any rest later on today. Yay!
That being said, I decided to doodle up something for Ranger in the meantime. XD He's drawn me a few gifts, and I wanted to do at least something to give back in return, and I am happy that I got in touch with him after such a long time (despite the fact that I still barely get to talk to him, but anyway!). This one's based off of some pictures I saw in his gallery, and decided to try my hand at drawing his character.
I still say I'm terrible at dragons. XP

You.
You there.
You have made my <ludicrously long amount of time>.
Seriously, I really, really, REALLY can not thank you enough for this! This made me smile almost immediately (Before that I was just in speechless awe), I just can't fathom how awesome you've done this, and how amazing you are! If I ever think of any way of getting you back for this (Though looking at it I doubt there is any way I could!), I'd do it in a flash, because you more than deserve it.
Thank you so, so, so, so, SOOOOOOOOOOOO much! (I'll insert more "so"s later)
I simply can not express how much I appreciate this. I am really not kidding.
*Goes back to being speechlessly in awe*
PS: You draw excellent dragons~

Fooo to the Wooooo!
Heya FoWo! Friendly neighbourhood Sheeps here!
*hugs*
As the dragon thing seems to be bothering you I decided to give it some thoughts! Whilst having a cup of green tea.
Dragon wise people always seem to go for the "smooth" hide look. They do the lovely scale plates on the chest/stomach but then opt for the smooth skinned look over the rest of their body. Now this works well on someone like say Solid who is meant to be all Smoooth Scales of slickness!
But on your regular run of the meal dragon they are meant to be scaled and I know from an artistic point of view drawing thousands of tiny little scales might well drive you insane!
But perhaps you could work on some sort of shading/shadowing technique to add in the illusion of lots of scales. Not that this picture isn't awesome sauceness! It is beautiful and wonderful dragon art really it is beautiful! But as you seemed down about your dragons I thought i'd suggest that as something you could maybe work on at a personal level to see if you can create that illusion of all over scaled body.

Hmm...Those are some good points Russet! But I think the main thing for me is adapting the facial structure and body shape into my style, I haven't found a reliable way to do so yet (or at least not one that I'm completely happy with). I think I just need to work on it more.
Thanks for the feedback though! I might give scales a try at some point. X3
