I've been enjoying redrawing old artwork in my spare time, since it's fairly easy to do and also super satisfying!
I love being able to portray my characters more how I really imagine them.

Kualei was adopted into the pride after his mother joined when he was a very young cub.
She passed away shortly after this and he was taken in and cared for.
He was born weak and blind, many believing he wouldn't make it.
Despite his shortcomings, Kualei had a persistence, a will to live, and a great will to be happy.
He has never let life get him down, even when he was persistently bullied as a cub.
He has always found a way to find joy in the little things.

When his betrothal to Princess Ajabu was announced, Kualei was just as surprised as she was, though he wasn't necessarily displeased about it.
He found peace in knowing his role for the pride was set in stone, and that he could provide and be of use even with his disability.

During his rule, Kualei has never found a reason to be unhappy.
He has a happy pride, and things are doing just fine, as far as he knows.
His queen Ajabu is responsible for keeping him up to date on things, and she always has good news.
As far as her affair, Kualei has no idea, and probably never will.
