If I had to use one word to describe the Mac-10, it would be BRICK.
There’s not much that I can say about this submachine gun that’s good, where do I start?
It’s uncomfortable to hold, it has a fording wire stock that constantly wants to slip off my shoulder, and it easily has the worst forgrip I have ever seen. But I will give it credit for the oversized suppressor, it’s easily one of the quietest weapons I’ve ever used.
If you want the element of surprise, this is for you.

The fact that it's a naturally subsonic .45 ACP to begin with, and such a big, long suppressor both aid one another in being a very quiet weapon. Not the greatest machine pistol/submachine gun ever, but EVERYONE remembers this as one of Hollywood's favorite guns of the 80s, besides the Uzi.

Tough decision, but if I had to choose one.

A late buddy of mine had a class three Mac 10, he bought it after watching John Wayne in 'McQ' (first appearance of the Mac 10) cause "The Duke makes it look utterly bad-ass."
Ron was an ex Nam vet, bought it for like $500 plus the tax stamp back in 84. When his paperwork cleared we took it out to the desert to test "The Bullet Hose" and threw 200 rounds through it. I remember his first mag spat out in under 3 seconds. Ron had an old M1 GI Helmet shell and he targeted the helmet, pushing it through a dry river bed a good 20 feet , seriously caving it in. Then I tried it one handed, ended up killing clouds after 8-10 rounds. And using the strap you had to make sure you held it off to the side firmly to somewhat control it. We discovered short bursts worked best. Later Ron obtained a fake suppressor to give you something to grip onto. After a few ventures Ron could easily control it even one handed. I once watched him cut a running jackrabbit in half at 50 yards with a short burst. He got that good a shot with it. He called the Mac "My Squeeze Toy".
He sadly lost it when his apartment was mistaken for a drug dealer's place and other gang members kicked in his door, shoved in a shotgun which Ron grabbed, pulling in the gunman and proceeded to pummel him with the shotgun. Only to have another gangbanger come up behind him and shot him through the spine with a 9mm. They quickly looted his place leaving him bleeding and unconscious, taking the Mac.
The Mac was eventually recovered in LA a couple years later, but it was used in a multiple murder. Therefore destroyed a few months after sentencing. Ron never recovered, left in a wheel chair after 2 years in Nam without a scratch. He died a few years later.
