It's always fascinating to learn more about Tony's backstory. So interesting to compare the choices that were made and the circumstances they were made in to the man they thus created.

And I wonder what he'll do about this little conundrum.

What can you do in a situation like this? Sam hasn't worked for the"agency" in twenty years. He probably doesn't even have any friends there. He is strictly private sector solutions now.

This isn't some out of the blue plot development. That was part of his history from before I even drew the first page of SLOP.
Tony wasn't a secret agent. He was a paid mercenary. Have big gun, will travel. Only he was on the payroll of the SLOP equivalent of the CIA. He's not a super trained super spy. But he does have blackops training/experience.

And, I suspect that Tony is a real hard sumbitch to put down. Sure he can't stop a bullet, but he's always struck me as very determined. Iron willed and all that.

Perhaps nothing can be done about it. Perhaps he'll call them up and ask this agency what can be done about it. Or if nothing can be done, the next question is how can he adapt to this reality.
Or sometimes people don't adapt, and just go on complaining about something they can't or won't change...but Mulefoot doesn't strike me as that type.

Oh man, no history? No records? No hoofprints on record, no DNA on file, no past? Mulefoot just got a hell of a lot more dangerous.

He's been the same danger level all along. :)
Knowing that he sort of doesn't exist could actually be a bad thing.
This entire time, he's been conducting himself as if he were a felon and as if he were just as much in the system as everyone else.
He might start to get...sloppy now.

Even though he was in the military, I still saw him as more of an untrained killer. And at times, maybe even a bit sloppy. No pun intended. But knowing now that he was also a mercenary, specifically hired by the agency to probably do some heinous things, Mulefoot now seems more calculated to me. More dangerous. Not to mention that his past has been pretty much erased, at least on paper. I bet the right minded person could use that to his advantage. But it also makes me wonder, why was he in prison? Why the dishonorable discharge? Makes me question a lot of things?

Well, he does, in a sense because he must have a driver's license and insurance. He has to have an ID. Its just that if you ever were to try and look him up, he doesn't exist on paper before a certain date.

I'm not sure if having no past is that much of an asset. Eventually you'd want to retire, go back to your roots, have some continuity. If he's snuffed out like an overdue clerical error, he won't have existed. And he's made his charitable friend a liability since that well-meant benefits check could jeopardise them both.

And yes, it will probably make him think who's kept his back clean of crosshairs all this time, and to what purpose.

When Tony was a mercenary the first time, he was working pretty much for SLOP equivalent of the CIA in South America. During that time period, he and the people he was working with had the appearance of being free-lancers but they all had an exclusive contract with "The Agency".

I don't know anything about Fred Savage other than that one piece of art so I can't say.
