I've gone pretty silent lately because of my focus to this chapter. And now that you've read it, you can probably understand why. It's time to start the endgame of Sonic '06 - Reborn ... and it's time to start getting weird.

I'm venturing into really uncharted territory here conceptually, at least in terms of these fics. In the original game's plot, Mephiles of course bonds with Iblis to become Solaris and sucks everyone into a spatial rift. But while I'm not going to say I'm in any way an expert in how time works, I couldn't help but get a little extra creative when planning out how I'd portray that. It works differently from how the game explained it - at least, I think, since it's hard to tell how it works there - and it's maybe where I'm using the most creative freedom with this fic. It's also the first time I've ever intentionally tried to confuse the reader, so if you aren't clear on what exactly is happening or why certain things happen ... that's partially the point, especially when Solaris is sucking everything into his rift. It's not supposed to be easy to grasp, but as this finale continues, hopefully it'll start to click more if it hasn't already.

Or maybe it'll come across as pure nonsense. That's for you to decide. ;)
