Character

Suzanne Gadovnik was hatched in Dnipro in Ukraine. Both her parents were humanthro snakes, and were surprised to see that their daughter had inherited the long dormant recessive feral genes from them. They were worried it would make her life harder, having to live without any limbs. Fortunately, technology had kept up with their demands. When she was four years old, she got her first cybernetic arms for her to use. A full anthro cybernetic body would be fitted when she would be 15 years old, and fully grown. But even with these arms, she quickly learned how to work with them as if they had always been part of her body. At school she did have to face the negative stereotyping against her snake background, the deceit and the negative connotations several religions had assigned to her kind. But she persisted. She would show them how wrong they were about her. Her confidence and her hard work gave her high grades and praise from her teachers, and she'd enroll at the university of Geneva to study medicine, but also to have a shot at being assigned to Starfleet. Both of these goals were met thanks to her own efforts, and she was assigned to the starship Pioneer.

On the ship, the chief engineer Turash-Kae made some upgrades to her cybernetic suit. First of all, the suit received internal heating, which should help her cold-blooded body to perform better in cold environments. It also got an aesthetic upgrade: a skin to cover up the naked metal fitted with very advanced tactile sensors; and two breast-like implants that contain extra power cells. She also received an implant that allows to control her suit remotely, so she can easily can get in and out of it. With these upgrades, the entire cybernetic suit feels like a permanent extension of her body. She would only put it off in her quarters while she's sleeping, and the suit is recharging. She'd almost pass for a normal humanthro, though she'd use the rest of her tail as an extra limb.

On her journeys, she received plenty of opportunities to do some xenobiological research, and gained more interest in alien life the more she studies it. She's very committed to her role as the ship's main doctor, though she's glad she can leave all the mental treatment to Lydia. Suzanne is well-read and is always hungry for more literature, both fiction and non-fiction. She's secretly a big fan of Zero G Ball, an intergalatic sport, but only Lydia and Tom know this.
