Yes, it's kind of fascinating. But there is also brainwashing where what remains of the original person is altered and now only a new being remains.
How a guy who was absorbed by the digital world, due to its influence, becomes a sexy Renamon and before being able to assimilate what happened to him, his mind is reprogrammed and now he is another Renamon, without having any idea that he was a human being before.
