Whew, anyhoo this is a new character of mine, Iris. She stars in a comic I'm developing ideas for: "Coldwave."
*Expect long paragraph on comic, skip for more discription of character*
Coldwave is a cyberpunk comic inspired by the nostalgic film "Heavy Metal" (and yes, the origional one, not that 2000 stuff.) And where Heavy Metal ties itself thehard rock of it's time, Coldwave takes a different direction with the references and themes of my favorite genre: Industial. ("Coldwave" acutually being a sub-genre of Industrial music that includes heavy metal acts.) And like Heavy Metal, expect this to be very adult, and at times intentionaly (and hopefully humorously) gratuitous. If I can get this going, I can see this being the ultimate furry comic. And sense this is inspired by music, I want to try and make some animations sometime in the future too.

Isis is a perfect example of the feel of the comic. In one of the comic's interlocking stories (I plan to have at least 3 going on at the same time) She's a kudu, and the leader of a small group of rebels trying to overthrough the distopian government and make ends meet by stealing from it's rich. In a comic-book fashion, Iris has a "superpower" in that she's been fitted with bionic implants after surviving an unknown accident (LOL me and Domafox joked "We can rebuild her! We have the technology!" ) Her name comes from her eye doubling as a sniper scope (sense she's already a good marksperson) and her bionic arm serves a wide range of functions... including a hidden machine pistol and silencer and a removable hand that gets replace with knives and other tools (and while you're thinking it, sometimes "toys" ). Her wild "big hair" is another good example of the feel of this world. I've considered trying to bring some retro into the mix and make it look as if it was made in the 80's amoung Akira, Mad Max, Blade Runner... and industrial music (Example: it's setting might be set in the "near future" of early 2000.) You might also notice a resemblance to another drawing I made earlier...
