So I finally got around to modding my 3DS (it was really easy to do,)
and with that I decided to patch a randomiser onto PMD Explorers of Sky.
Meet Sketch the Smeargle, and Trace the Mew, my arty explorers!
And boyfriends.
The Experience
The first Pokemon I rolled was Smeargle, and with Mew as a partner option,
things just clicked. Two pokemon who can learn any move! And dear Arceus it was DIFFICULT!!!!
Mew was fine thanks to those mythical stats, but Smeargle was playing on dark souls difficulty setting,
low defenses, low HP, fully relying on stolen attacks and gambling on something better coming along.
I fainted 12 times simply doing the first tutorial dungeon.
Saving grace for the playthrough being golden seeds thanks to the item randomiser.
Things smoothed out after the first third of the game as I banked on finding more seeds, but
every so often I would find out being over levelled wasn't enough, and I had to trust my partner had my back
when things got tough! ...then we kinda got locked into a dungeon when Ivysaur (bidoof replacement) just
wouldn't stop dying and now I have a deep (temporary) hatred for Ivysaur for wasting so many good items.
To finish the game I had to become the master of the elements

Bite. The element of biting. (Flinch RNG!)
and long story short, I completed the game and absolutely do not recommend playing
as a Smeargle. It is suffering. But it feels like a true win if you defy all the adversities and disadvantages.
Just hope you get a strong partner by your side.
Funny Random Pokemon
Two wide-eyed Pokemon replacing team Skull, Tangela and Wormadon
Skuntank was a Vaporeon... if you know...
Drowzee was Whiscash, and it was still unsettling
Dusknoir was Magmar, and I kept calling him Magmoir
The 3 Lake Pokemon were Finneon, Caterpie, and Torchic
Celebi was Lickilicky and I got a kick out of them saying "How rude. To poke fun at my petit proportions."
Lapras was Chimchar, just imaging the tiny thing carrying us across the sea...
Dialga was Infernape... so the Chimchar thing came full circle
