Letting you all know I'm not dead. But these two are. (also, I can't do dog anatomy to save my life. Please give me some grace.)

Today, we lost Jax after having him for 14 years. He was 16. We put him down after being so old and hurt. It was hard on the whole family. My brother and I probably took it the worst. I have his collar, and he has his leash. We were all holding him when he took his last breath.


Shocker was lost in 2009, the day before Thanksgiving. She somehow got out of the house and got hit by a car. The person that hit her wasn't the one that took her to the vet. She had to be put down on the spot because she was in so much pain.

I tried to get a little bit of each personality as I remember them. Jax sat up like this when we went to the vet. He didn't know what was going on. He couldn't smell, hear, or see anymore. So it was kind of a good thing.

Shocker loved to have her belly rubbed. Whenever I did so, she put her front legs straight up. I thought it was funny, but it was adorable, nonetheless.

Today was a hard day for me. I miss them both so much.
