They are not hard to walk in, but it can be interesting to stay still, especially on an up-hill incline. Otherwise, I made them from a high-healed boot, so the shape to lean your weight to the front was already there. I did alter the boot to heck, of course, but otherwise, it's not bad. They are pretty comfortable and give your legs a work-out. I can wear them for about three hours before calling it quits. I'm glad you like them.
Go for it. I'm not the first to make things like this. Also, I know that art is there to inspire other art and if the artist is a snob and denies others tips, said others will just look at the work anyway and figure it out. Ha. If you have any questions about construction, hit me up.
I'll give you the short end of it. Basically, get a chunky high heeled boot, lop the back heel off as well as the front sole. Make a block of wood that fits between the shoe and the front sole to create elevation. But before attaching it all, make a long metal plate that runs the whole length of the shoe for extra support and stick it between the shoe and wood. Bind it all together with screws, glue and puddy (for the potential holes). Cover in foam and carve your shape. Cover with the material of your choosing and trim if need be. Throughout the process, I suggest testing how they feel, fit and hold up structurally instead of hopping right to the final product. Anything else?
