And now, as they say, for something completely different. I'd always wanted to do a behind-the-scenes piece, showing the world of SPCM as if it was filmed on an actual soundstage - I just think it'd be more imaginative than showing me hunched over a graphics tablet.
Anyway, I was originally gonna show a scene from one of the comics being 'shot' like a live-action show. But then I suddenly realised it'd be much more fun to show the characters as puppets - after all, that's how some of the finest sci-fi shows have been shot. After looking at what different shows had done, I finally settled on X-Bomber-style rod puppets. Indeed, much of the studio setup you see here was inspired by what few photos I could find of the making of that show.
