important context for my understanding of dsmp characters is that my main source of dsmp content is actually the fanfiction series orphan’s path. i have little to no knowledge on how accurate orp characters are to dsmp canon and my only other source is what i overhear online/what my irl friends explain to me

it was between crow and raven for the prefix, and my friend suggested talon for his suffix to be a fighting word with relation to birds! crowtalon sounded better than raventalon (the double N’s arent great).
i used jet-black in his design to make him look off. he’s supposed to look unnatural and offputting with the “shadow” over his eyes and the direct eye contact- i also drew him with more animalistic eyes (no visible sclera, thin pupils) to push that further. his paws almost look stained the way the black fades up the leg with the blotchier freckley bits creeping up. changing the lineart there to white helps the shape make sense, but its also yet another thing that makes him look weird.
my perception of phil is 100% reliant on orphan’s path. i am exposed to almost zero content of him in canon. orp phil is a very unnerving angel of death with the same impenetrable shadow over his face (even without the veil on his hat) and is an extinct variety of his species, he’s uncanny and really fucking scary. he also has this dark sparkly staining/scarring on his hands and feet from touching void so often, which is why crowtalon has those markings.
OH also i tend to make “weirdos” very skinny because it Just Makes Them Look Weird.
