A second concept picture idea of Raxus in my lore. Hes basically this dark wizard rat who rules as the dark spiritual leader of the ratmen who inhabit the mountains of central Nuverta. Like all species in the realm, they were once more traditional races, in this case elves. After the magic of Nuverta completely engulfed the continent, the mountain elf clans were afflicted by a massive surge of chaotic magic that rippled through their realm turning them into grotesque ratkin who barely maintained their sentience. Their once-great society decayed aong with their minds, leaving behind a tribe-like system which still greatly admires magic, wearing remnants of their former elven armor as a sort of momento and power.

Of course the more malfaisant gods of the world saw an opportunity to manipulate and convert these ratkin to their ways. Raxus was one of the first to hear their abyssal call and gratefully accepted their aid to repel invaders and bring glory to their fallen people.
