Alex was taking a long hike through the woods. He enjoyed walking through nature and wanted a change of scenery from the everyday. He kept on walking until he noticed the sun was setting and it was getting dark. He pulled a map from his pocket and looked around at his surroundings. He was not in a familiar place in the forest. He tried to retrace his steps but to no avail. "Shoot!" he groaned as he searched for his compass. He accidentally left it at home. Soon it was night and he was surrounded by spooky shadows. He pulled out his flashlight (thank goodness he didn't leave it at home) and shined it around until he found a path. It wasn't the path he was looking for but it could be a path that would lead him out of the woods where he can find someone and get help in getting him home. Alex followed until he found a blue tent. An campfire was being attended by an anthro bat woman. She was roasting hotdogs over the fire. Alex decided to speak up to the stranger. "Excuse me, miss." Alex said. The bat woman looked up at him. "Why hello!" she smiled. "What's your business, sir?"
Alex replied, "I got lost and I am looking for my way home."
"Are you sure?" the bat asked. "People only find my tent when they are looking for a change of fate." She gestured towards a wooden sign with the words "Madame Rhekka's Fortune Changers Tent" engraved on it. "You found me so we were destined to meet. What's your name?"
"Uh, Alex." he answered. "Are you a fortune teller?"
"Alex, dearie, I'm a fortune changer. I change people's lives for the better and you have come for just that." She stood up and beckoned him to follow her. "Come, Alex, into my tent and we can talk in there. There are all kinds of creatures of the night you would not want to run into in this neck of the woods." He followed her inside the tent and saw shelving units of potions, herbs, teas, magical artifacts, jewelry, animal/human skulls, and tarot decks. In the middle of the tent was a round table with a black table cloth laid on it. In the middle of the table was a crystal ball. "Please take a seat." Rhetta said as she sat in hers. Alex did as he was told.
"So what are we doing today?" Alex asked.
"We'll use the crystal ball, dearie." she replied. She muttered something in an unknown language. She looked at his puzzled expression. "I'm speaking in Atlantean, the long lost language of Atlantis."
"Atlantis had magic?" Alex asked.
"Yes, and only few remember it." Rhekka replied. "Now pay attention to the image in the crystal ball, what do you see?" Alex leaned forward. He squinted to try to scrutinize what he was looking at. "Take a few deep breaths and concentrate. It helps a lot."
He took a few deep breaths and looked again and saw a park. "I see what looks like a park."
"What kind of park? One with clowns and roller coasters?" Rhetta asked.
"No, a park where people take walks and look at flowers." he saw a purple skunk girl with a pink bow looking around her. She sighed and hung her head down looking sad." "What a second, that looks like Fifi la Fume from Tiny Toon Adventures! But it is a work of fiction."
Rhetta grinned "That's what the mundane folk all say! We are living in a multiverse of many different realities. The crystal ball is showing you this reality for a reason. What do you think is upsetting the poor girl?"
"She never got a boyfriend in the TV series." Alex said.
"Yes, you're right! She needs help finding a boyfriend from a special person to make her life complete. Would you like to help her?"
Alex bravely nodded. "Of course; I would!"
"Then all you have to do is place your index finger on the crystal ball. It is a portal to other worlds!" She said. "Just know this, in order for you to fit into this reality you will be transformed to fit into the reality. One person once told me he wanted to got to the North Pole and help Santa Claus with his deliveries. When he got there he turned into a reindeer to help pull the sleigh."
"I understand." Alex said. He placed his finger on the crystal ball.
"Good luck and enjoy your new life!" Rhetta gave him a toothy grin.
Alex looked around him and saw the tent vanishing as he saw himself inside of a nature park. He noticed Fifi la Fume with her back turned. "Hello, Fifi, I'm here to help you with your romance problem! He suddenly felt his ear itch. Alex rubbed it and discovered it was covered in fur. The same happened to his other ear. "What's going on?" he asked as he saw purple fur cover his arm. One of his fingers disappeared leaving four on his hand. Alex remembered what Rhetta said about transforming to fit into the reality he was now in. A purple and white tail sprouted from his dark gray shorts. "I'm turning into a skunk!" He said. Alex felt himself getting shorter and feeling younger as he was now in his teen years again and now as tall as Fifi. His other arm and neck was now covered with purple fur. His shoes vanished revealing purple skunk feet. "Woah! Rhetta wasn't kidding!" Alex said as his Adam's apple shrank making his voice higher pitched. His chest became curvier and his hair grew longer but remained the same color. His hips expanded to a more child-bearing form and he felt his manhood vanish. Alex was now a she. "Sacre Bleu!" She said as she now had a French accent. She looked at her new body. I like the new me! She skipped over to Fifi la Fume. "Bonjour, I'm Alex!"
Fifi smiled, "Bonjour, Alex, I'm Fifi la Fume. I've never seen you before."
"I'm new in town." She smiled. "What's troubling you?"
She sighed. "Moi luck has been rotten today! "I've been looking for a boyfriend but they keep running away from my scent!"
"I'm sorry your day has been 'orrible. Why don't we go to ze mall today. Would you like to join moi? We can always find a boyfriend available there!"
"Oui, oui! Let's go, mon ami! Since you're new here I'll take you to ze mall and show you around!" Fifi took Alex's hand and the both cheerily skipped through the park enjoying the scenic view on their way to the mall.
