Chemic Concept Sheet 1
Character development for Chemic (as in 'Chemical', so pronounced 'Kemmick').
Chemic was an ordinary dog once. Then one day, while wandering in an abandoned chemical plant, he fell (or was he pushed?) into a vat of toxic waste. Ah yes, that old chestnut...
Even as he immediately scrabbled out, the chemicals melted away half of both his ears, and he soon began to mutate. His anatomy and the colour of his fur altered dramatically, and his pupils both spilt into three points, giving him extraordinary vision in multiple spectrums.
Unfortunately, he also retained the toxic properties of the chemicals he was submerged in, to the point that if anyone came near him wearing anything less than a full biohazard-suit, they would die horribly. So he was caught and branded with a gas-mask symbol to warn others of his toxicity, and then cast out.
From that day onwards he was forced to live on the outskirts of society, soon to become accompanied by a small group of creatures that, for one reason or another, had also been through unusual circumstances that resulted in them mutating, and therefore immune to Chemic's toxic attitude...
Chemic is not specifically a quadruped - I drew up these designs to practise at canine anatomy before I draw him in biped form.
Chemic is (C) to me, as is the artwork and character development. Original character design was created and sold to me by ErisValgen.
