I think either that Thunderbolt Wyvern met Moonshade before and recognized Rhea as that psycopath's daughter due to her snake tail and tongue or it can somehow see Rhea's snake form as a spirit salivating for their meat like how Rhea herself is on her normal form.

I'm guessing the latter. reminds me of how in toriko, some characters project an aura that takes on a monstrous form to intimidate enemies
