Original Species: North-Elysian Devil Monkey
For this entry, we venture once again to the far north of Elysium, where Milo encounters one of the most vicious predators of that region: The Devil Monkey.
North-Elysian Devil Monkeys are vicious simians specifically native to the islands off the northern coast of the continent of Elysium. There, they are close to the top of the food chain, preying upon the dwarf-versions of many mainland species. While on occasion they patrol their territory alone, they usually travel in troops of anywhere between 10 and 20 individuals. Due to their numbers, they are known to hunt down entire small herds of herbivores: tapirs, dinosaurs, pigs, and griffins, all live in fear of the Devil Monkeys. Even marine mammals (northern relatives of the Titan Seals for the most part) need to be wary when a troop of these vicious beasts is in the area.
They are, however not the undisputed rulers of the islands they inhabit; they share their environment with other, equally dangerous, but much more discrete killers. And they themselves also fall prey to the true ruler of the cold and ruthless north. That, however, is a story for another time.
