She may be a despicable character, but she’s so badass and metal. My theory for her, provided she was earth born like Adam, was that in life, she was the only member of her family with any desire, or belief to go to heaven. This has left her bitter, and ignited her hatred on any sinners. This hatred appealed to Adam, and naturally led to her promotion to second in command.
