I've had similar experiences with contracts under 40 hour weeks.
My folks and I agreed that with a 12-hour-week contract, no matter how much you worked out a rota, be it working 6 hours for 2 days, 3 for 4 days, 4 for 3 days or 2 for 6 days, it just wasn't worth the petrol getting there....
