What I really love about his design is that his markigns are not soft and natural, but he has those geometric, sharp-lined marks. It underlines his analytical personality, makes hm seem sharp-edged and I dunno, just really underlines his vibes.
Also, seeing himi with open hair makes me feral as hell, I bet Jack loves to run his fingers through it, lift his knuckles and kiss on top of the hair. Like a gentlecat!

actuallyi was struggling with his markings for a while, i wanted a "cape-like" marking with a bright chest. and at first i made it all soft, but it looked weird and unspecific, like it was hard to replicate. I dunno, it didnt vibe with me. So I settled with hard edges, and it kinda.. fits? I dunno, I like the chest area somehow a lot xD so i wanted something similar for the back, and here we are :3

I am still surprised this is my first detective bebe, because??? i love?? XD i mean, technically rayner was first, but his ref isnt finished so xD atti is first

I always thought Abyssinian cats look rather boring, but I love how you exaggerated their typical marking a little and thereby made a cool character design form it!

And I can totally feel your love for detective stories and (murder) mysteries. They're such a catching genre. Paired with some romantic tension like between Atticus and Jack, they can easily make you addicted.

The story you and Zelendur gave these characters sound very interesting and I hope, there will be more from them in the future! :3

And haha, I'm so glad you enjoy his design! I was really torn apart between giving him very soft markings or hard ones. I went with the hard ones to a) make it easier for other artists to get it right and b) it just struck me as fitting to his personality. Im glad it turned out neat x3

You have no idea how happy I am, that you appreciate my comments so much x3 Since artfight last year I finally started to slowly find my way back into drawing and into the art community. Being here, surronded by such nice people and passionate drawings makes me so happy.

I can imagine that it wasn't an easy desicion. Hard marking are seen a lot so soft ones, might be something different. But just as you said, its definitely easier for other artists to draw your character how you imagine him. And I totally agree that they represent his personality better! One can see that quite some thoughts went into them. :3
