This is a drawing I made of the battle of Mons (Belgium) that occurred in the middle of 1914, during the First World War. Where my character Kevin is a soldier of the English Expeditionary Forces, whose battalion was about to be defeated before the great offensive by the German army. Until suddenly, some strange and radiant angelic beings, dressed in medieval armor from the 15th century (among them my other OC Denise), stand in the middle of the battlefield fighting fiercely against the Germans, thus giving an unexpected and miraculous victory for the British side.


In truth, for some time I was fascinated by the famous myth of the angels that appeared in WW1, and more by the story of the battle of Mons. which for a moment I thought had happened in real life, but then I found out that this legend originated thanks to a short fictional story called "The Bowmen", made by the Welsh writer Arthur Machen for the newspaper "The Evening News". Thus causing the church and the government to try to make patriotic propaganda with said story, and all in order to get more people to enlist in the army.

Also, despite everything, the history of the angels of Mons is still very interesting, which is why it is incredible for me to see this own recreation with my characters xD


PD: The reason why Denise is shown pregnant in the drawing is by my own whim, nothing more.

Este es un dibujo que hice de la batalla de Mons (Belgica) ocurrida en el año 1914, durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. En donde mi personaje Kevin es un soldado de las Fuerzas Expedicionarias Inglesas, cuyo batallon estaba a punto de ser derrotado ante la gran ofensiva por parte del ejercito Aleman. En la verdad, desde hacia un tiempo me quede fascinado con el famoso mito de los angeles que se aparecieron en la WW1, y mas por el relato de la batalla de Mons. Cosa que por un momento crei que habia pasado en la vida real, pero luego me entere que esta leyenda se origino gracias a una pequeña historia de ficcion llamada "The Bowmen", hecha por el escritor gales Arthur Machen para el periodico "The Evening News". Provocando asi que la iglesia y el gobierno trataran de hacer propaganda patriotica con dicha historia, y todo con el fin de que mas personas se enlisten en el ejercito.

Ademas, apesar de todo, la historia de los angeles de Mons sigue siendo muy interesante, por lo cual para mi es increible ver esta recreacion propia con mis personajes xD


PD: La razon por la cual Denise se muestra embarazada en el dibujo es por mi propio capricho, nada mas.
