Mike has always been a forester at heart, roaming around his hometown’s forest as soon as he was allowed to, from dawn till dusk, and sometimes longer still, through snow and cold wind. His latest tour, however, brought him to a desert. Three long months to stand around and keep the peace, under a cruel sun and thermometer breaking temperatures.
That’s why his girlfriend had a surprise for his return: a day long hiking trip for the two of them, coated in winterwears. As they were walking among the pines, he little by little went ahead, basking in the coldness of the trees and whiteness of the falling snow, full of childish enthusiasm as he opened his arms, welcoming it all. As he was rotating around, his girlfriend snapped a picture, both as a way to eternalise such a blissful endeavour, and to commemorate a return home. Who know if there’d even be trees, the next time he’s gone?
