Not a single cloud marred that pristine night sky, the glimmer of twinkling stars and the waning crescent moon adorning that beautiful canvas. The night air was cool, crisp and refreshing. The dull murmur of water cascading over the cliff side mixed with the soothing sound of the meandering river which it fed. The water seemed to enhance the reflection of the starlight above, almost taking on an ethereal glow in the night. There was something enchanting, something almost otherworldly about the beauty of the scene. A lone canine tilted her head to the moon above, closing her eyes as she howled, her song punctuating the relative quiet of the evening. Her song was beautiful, a serenade for all the sleeping world to hear as she called out in the middle of the night. But there was a certain sense of melancholy to her song, for as beautiful as that song may be, it was never meant as a solo performance.
