Definitely some sort of protective equipment when working in an environment with conditions otherwise hostile to this character that are ideal for the machinery-- say a futuristic laboratory with nanites in the air that are extremely irritating to the skin?

I can see not covered tail and head hair (so, this not good environmental suit), as mask looks armored just around eyes and in muzzle zone. At other side this suit has "ancient Greece warriors"-like lower part of legs armoring. As this suit has thin bodysuit zones, which may protect just against claws and knifes, not against bullets. So this may be some martial arts training (melee combat) or sport suit, combined with some virtual/extended reality systems.
