You and I are a lot alike, mate._______________________________________________________________________As the evening sun shines down across a coastline covered in lush plantlife, a white and blue canine- shaped figure approaches the safety rail which bars the cliffside below, their form oddly reflective, like that of rubber- yet dressed in a casual getup which contrasts their texture. They overlook the vastness of the ocean before them with a seemingly blank demeanor.
After a bit, they are approached by another gentleman, a chameleon/hummingbird hybrid of sorts, their origins shrouded in mystery, albeit probably less questionable than the opposing person beside them. They snuck a glance at the figure beside them, doing a double take before choosing to engage.
"...Wait, Sewn- is that you? I didn't recognize you for a second, at least not as... that, heh."
The figure turned lightly, their visor lightly shining in the sunlight, and they let out a soft chuckle, despite their snout not appearing to move.
"Frack, my man! Why wouldn't I be here? It's a lovely day out. And well, yeah. Been a while since Terlix had contact with me, I have free will, it feels extra comfortable, so yeah- why not?"
"Well it's just that, I've certainly seen you as many things, but a drone out in the open is a new one."
Sewn paused for a bit, the lightly crashing waves below interrupting his train of thought, then sighed quietly.
"...Mmh, yeah, I feel your concern, but I've been thinking for a bit on it as a whole, and... aren't drones just hardened latexians, or like a synth byproduct? I don't quite get how they're able to go out and about doing whatever despite what they're capable of, and our subspecies is only limited to being... tools?"
Sewn would huff, exhaling lightly and lowering his head slightly. Frackata would inch a bit closer.
"Ah, hm... I generally see where you're coming from, though as you most likely know, there's already a widely known stigma for drones. Where and how they originate, and how they're immediately put to use, all that."
Sewn turned to Frackata slightly, their mostly featureless face conveying an aura of mild contempt.
"Plus... you seem to be one of very few drones who are left with free will."
"Mmm... that's true. A part of me wishes more "masters" would let their applicants go for a while. There's a lot of color and variety in this universe, from my experiences... who's to say another couldn't squeeze in?"
Sewn would chuckle some more and shake his head, before leaning down slightly and draping his arms over the railing.
"...Ah, whom I kidding, change occurs when lady luck deems it necessary, I s'pose. I just assume as long as I'm not a burden or bother to anyone, it's fine."
"Sewn, you're my friend. We respect each other's tastes and activities. I'm sure a solid chunk would agree on your stance, but the same could be said in the opposing sense."
"Heh, can't please everyone, I guess. Live and learn."
The two oddballs relaxed over the railing, listening to the cawing of birds among the crashes of the waves below, whilst the sun nears the horizon's edge.
"...I should probably ask, what've you been up to today?"
"Ahh, just the usual, for the most part. Nothing noteworthy, just decided to grab a quick drink and dinner before heading home, found you here by pure luck."
"Funny, I was initially planning on heating up some leftovers once I got back."
"Perhaps I ought to treat myself as well."_______________________________________________________________________
