A story idea of mine that never quite got off the ground involved three "Regular" 'morph animals from an alternate dimension who find themselves pulled into a world where "Magic" is commonplace, and most the creatures are centauroid in configuration. The trio are quickly befriended by a "Sabalope Unicorn Wizard," who's miscast spell got them there in the first place. The Sabalope teaches the newcomers how to adapt to their strange, new forms, and sure enough, all but the fox start displaying magical powers.
