Glory is the first big collaboration between
Foxena and myself. She does the linework, and I make it a comic. Basically I draw the panels and do the toning and shading and tweak and move and wiggle people around and just comic it up. I also write the script.
If you ask Verse they did they would tell you, "The silver was mad, I pointed it at some of the folks who hurt it. It's calm now." The word is hebrew, and the rest you'll figure out on your own. You're smart like that ;)
(And yes, the darnathi Silver lives here but he's a little different. Let's just say for now that environment affects character and Silver is very affected by his environment. It'll be awhile before you see him, unfortunately.)
Thank you!!! I wanted to share this page so much!!!

I can never look at that video again after seeing it without the music and singing and just silly fake audio.

I figured the silver might have something to do with whatever she was planning, but I honestly thought she'd use the flesh and blood attached to it for a spell of some sort, seeing as that was still technically a part of them and so any spell using that would bypass their wards. But using the silver is a nice touch also!
Consider Verse a sort of 'good' cleric (although Verse might argue otherwise). The wolf head part has a use but not in spells like this. The medals are made in acts of pain and desecration but it's 'stored' in the wolf head part. So it's the act of prying the corruption off that makes it useful for "good" spells. Verse can do different things with different medals. As an example, gold can heal. There is also a strange mineral in Glory we will introduce later called "salt" that has interesting properties ;)
Ah! I see, now. Yeah, that makes sense. A Cleric of Good can't be associated with/use 'corrupted' things, so the act of 'removing the corruption' will in effect 'purify' whatever they're going to use. And silver is an inherently 'pure' metal anyway, so removing the corrupted part just left the otherwise pure metal behind. Of course, silver is also associated with moonlight, so in some worlds it could be used as a good thing for werewolves (healing them, empowering them, as a Holy Symbol for their Priests/Priestesses, etc.), but I'm getting slightly off-topic here.
And yeah, healing spells often give off a golden light, so I can see gold being used for that (aside from the Biblical aspects of it, of course).

Thank you! Besides the page with Verse on the roof of the carriage it's also my favorite. Fox and I hemmed and hawwed about how to portray the effect for this page. We wanted something blinding, but if you go too hard with 'blinding', well... you can't see anything. The light is multiple layers in multiple filters to get the right layer of depth with it that I wanted. It ended up helping a lot that Verse wears black, which helps contrast that white light and makes it stand out more.
