CD video an evolutionary format combining the superb sound of cd and the highest quality pictures the future of compact disc

If only that. The truth of cd video is that is just a pal relaunch of laserdisc do to its fail in Europe there are some people out there wondering what’s laserdisc well to put it simply laserdisc is a big 12 inch optical disc with 2 hours of video on one disc launched some time in the 70s with near dvd video quality now there is another size of 8 inches which will be a bit later

Now cd video has three sizes to it 5 inch video singles with 30 minutes of audio and 6 minutes of video, 8 inch cdv EP discs with 45 minutes of video approx 22.5 minutes for one side, and the cdv LP disc with 2 hours of video there are 2 types of these the 12 inch LP discs the standard 2 hour discs and the so called cdv activate discs which allow you to freeze frame any part move slowly or fastly in the video but only has 1 hour of video

And with the cd have ing pits it means the disc will be read by a laser so a harmless beam of light will touch the disc and read through it no wear or tear on the disc dosnt wear in use and will last for years

Too bad it still sold poorly as the fact Philips we’re having trouble making the players and pioneer made there combi players able to read laserdisc and the cdv singles although two motets were used making it pretty expensive Philips would put out there players a standard one and a smaller one that was the same size as a standard CD player but only able to play the smaller sized disc and cds however sales were poor especially when it barly offered anything new with the format the cdv active discs were just CAV laserdiscs and the medium was already out before the cdv format with the only thing new of the cdv format was that smaller disc in the picture and they were simply digital audio laserdisc’s colored gold and that’s all I have to say just a bit more filler so I hope you learned something from this I may put out another story I hope
