Soon, Benji began to notice things felt off. His face felt more swollen, the tip of his nose had risen to his eye level, and he could feel his two front teeth resting on his bottom lip. He voiced his puzzlement aloud, filled with a growing concern that he may be having an allergic reaction. But then, seized with a sharp, involuntary tingling sensation, his hand came open and the apple dropped down by his feet. The ends of his fingers were coated in what seemed to be fur, which began to spread north to his knuckles and then to the wrists, as if someone was pulling heavy gloves over them. What’s more, he found his shoes were suddenly getting a lot tighter.
