I've always considered my Greek heritage to be more on the sideline for a lot of things in my life, but it's time I changed that. My grandmother came over to America from Greece to escape WW2, and she married a fellow Greek down in Louisiana, where my mother's family is from. My Greek ability is practically nonexistent, which I intend to fix in the future, not only as a linguist and language enthusiast, but to more readily embrace my heritage.
