Relaxing among the trees
For as fearsome and powerful as he can be, Derris doesn't go through the self-imposed 24/7 training in isolation only to keep being a monster. He's isolated for a reason after all, but as every proper coach will tell you, time of relaxation is required to balance out hard work and let the fruits of it thrive, and nothing helps with it better than nature itself. Treetops and thick branches are one of the last places one would expect a wolf, and combined with the fact that people don't really look up, it makes them one of the safest places for him to just lie down and enjoy the heavy pump flowing through his mighty body with a satisfied smile, or sleep away the tiredness from the exhausting mental training. Warm fur already shields him from the chill of the night or wind, so unless there is a hurricane shelter is unnecessary. The only problem is that by now he's outgrown most tree branches, sometimes leaving some of those ripped arms dangling off, not like anyone's gonna notice... right?
This is a bootiful raffle prize I got from YongDasom on Twitter quite a while back, finally remembered to upload it xD
Huge thank to him again, and if ya like BIG he's def the artist for you! Go follow him.
(don't mind the pixel-y tree branch, I did that part myself and never realized how it looks on a bigger scale lol)

Nobody found him for centuries and memory about him is long gone, so unless he's stumbled upon randomly due to his own mistake, ya ain't gonna find him xP
When it comes to taming, it's similar to how it was shown in How To Train Your Dragon, taming an intelligent beast. But the tougher part is gonna be convincing him to let you go alive as it risks exposing his existence.
