Jelena Maral Darby is a desert dwelling Emerid who makes a living doing whatever job comes her way. She seems to be most suited for jobs that require swiftness. She is currently "shipwrecked" and awaiting Oisin's return to the sands. Before her personal ship was destroyed, she was a scout for water bearing trains, which are often subject to pirate attacks. Many scouts, once down, are left behind due to the precious cargo the trains carry. Her crew thinks she's dead.

(Emerid: ee-mur-id; a faun like creature that is deer instead of goat. The name means Swift Ones, and they are widely known for their speed and grace. Both genders have antlers, males have larger antlers than females. Each gender gets a new set of points every 7 years.)
