I'm a little late, this page just gave me a theory on Post Fable's universe situation !
Based on Post Fable's Prequel, Salvation, it seems Elestians' point by making ''the fable'' is to get souls to heal from their trauma. Since it imply to start a whole new life with a new body and even a new planet and civilisation, I first thought the plan was to give those souls some sort of fresh start, which result in becoming completely different people who get to extract from their trauma .

BUT

Since the beggining of Dreamers, this new world is depicted as devastated, and this page just made me realise poseans life is as capable of creating new traumas instead of healing the old ones. So is it part of the plan? I think it is, because it would seem logic that elenians could just erase everybody's memories and start everything all over when it gets really messy, as wars and abuse like what may have happened to Brin .
So far, I think maybe the point would be to confront souls with new problems and traumas so they can solve them, especially by helping each other instead of staying alone in their ''hell loop'', and eventually get to solve their ultimate trauma ?
