This is Copper, a character that was created for me by a friend in 2018. In March of that year, my friend told me that he was experiencing a hard time. Out of respect for him, I'm not going to explain what happened, but he was experiencing a very hard and distressing time. He told me what was happening and he was so happy that someone talked to him he created a raccoon character for me. Now, when he made Copper he was a feral raccoon. However, since I am an anthropomorphic artist, I drew him more human-like here. This image is copied off of the original that the artist drew for me back in 2018.

The artist drew Copper sitting on his hind legs with his left arm extended out, showing his paw. So, I thought I should draw him sitting like this, extending his left hand to wave to the viewer. In the original drawing, Copper only had black pupils, in my version he has blue irises. In the original Copper has lightish brown fur, but also had a tuft of darker brown fur on his head, here he has a full head of darker brown fur. Since Copper was feral in the original he wore no clothes, here he is wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and gray shoes. The artist drew Copper digitally, this is traditional pencil drawing, so I made sure the colored pencils I used were as accurate to the digital color scheme as possible. Drawing an anthropomorphic version of a character based off of the original feral version was a challenge, but I am happy with the result.

I have two other characters, Alexis and Alashiyus. Alexis was a collaboration between me and MarcusStarkiller while Alashiyus was an original creation. Alexis was created in 2017 and Alashiyus was created in 2018. However, Copper was created before Alashiyus, making him my second character and Alashiyus my third character. However, this is the first time I drew and posted a picture of Copper on this gallery, where has I drew and posted a few other drawings of Alashiyus previously. So, Copper is kind of my forgotten character.

Why is he my forgotten character you might ask? Well, it's kind of complicated. See, Alexis and Alashiyus are my two fursonas, Copper is just a regular character. Also, I lost contact with the artist who created him. In late 2019 my friend and Copper's creator unwatched me on my former account. So, when I created this current account, I decided to not reach out to him. I don't know, I guess it's for the best that we stopped talking to each other. Nowadays, I don't even see it as his fault. When we were friends I was kind of clingy, I guess. In 2018 he briefly left FA and I lost contact with him and kind of fell into a depression you could say. I mean, earlier that year he talked to me about an event in his life that was causing him anxiety and distress, so when he left FA I couldn't contact him and see if he was able to resolve his issue. When he turned to FA later in 2018 I was just clingy, whenever he seemed to be upset about something I would message him to make sure he was fine.

We never met face-to-face and I was so obsessed with the status of our relationship. While I am glad I was there for him when he was dealing with his issues early in 2018, I now feel as if I overstepped my bounds later on. I still see him post artwork on FA under a different account occasionally, but I don't reach out to him. All I hope is that he is doing fine and is happy. So, that's why I kind of abandoned Copper. He was a feral character drew for me by a former friend, but I felt kind of bad for not using him, so I decided to revive him and reclaim him as one of my characters.
