freshstartwithabrokenheart has deserved more work from me for the longest time... And I excluded him from the Holiday Pics series, so this is something of my apology gift...Boltro requested this many, many months ago. To be honest I had a bit of trouble coming up with a decent context for the AR... Fiction Fox, I still don't know too much about, but I get the impression he's practiced in certain magical arts, (as well as his fantastic skills in literary and other arts, of course ^^) as such he might be acutely sensitive to certain special wavelengths, spells on the wind... I dunno, that's sort of my poetic spin on "Ooooh! Random regression!"
I feature Fiction Fox here shrinking into articles of clothing never present in the references I have, I hope they're okay. Also Fiction's got a pair of headphones... Yes, headphones, those aren't earmuffs, I realize that conclusion is easy to make now I look at it...
I hope it'll be acceptable.
Right, so as Odin and I know very well- Regression in these cold winter months can result in nasty and highly uncomfortable cold drafts-
It can even be dangerous if not handled properly. That's why friends are so important. ^^

I hope I don't come off sounding like a broken record, but you do improve with ever piece you post, and this three piece sequential narrative is no exception, especially in the first panel. I like how your expressions really set the mindset these two characters have, as well as the body language. I mean, Fiction Fox's half lidded eyes and laid back sense of pace really contrasts and reflects against Koopus's more jogging, puffing and awfully cheery demeanor. It shows your continued and practiced art style, as well as serve as the before shot to that awfully cold process which puts Fiction Fox down a few chronal pegs (I've heard of it being cold enough to have bits fall off, but not years o-o heh).
The idea of certain wavelengths affecting a being of magic strikes as rather creative and an idea worth exploring, as I've seen stories introduce similar concepts yet not really make as much use of such a concept to its fully potential. That said, seeing the "after" shot of this sudden wintry regression shows how well you can move a story with no dialogue to be shared or expressed, using "mugshots" and facial reactions to great effect...from the regression Fiction Fox's look of "Oh no, not noooooooooow" and Koopus's suddenly sweat drop laden (nothing wrong with good old anime/manga standbys :D) and nervous "What the-" wide eyes. Changing the camera angles was also quite a welcomed dynamic, as the sidewalk now adds a bit of dimension and substance as it stretches out to the back in the second half.
I really like this piece, and can't wait to look over parts 2 and 3, but before I do, a couple quick things: 1.) And this might be just me, but I hope he's got some sort of heating or warmth spell before hand, cause I've said this before and I'll say it again...why would anyone want to go out in bare feet in this weather!? *brrrrrrrrr and tugs on another pair of wool socks* and 2.) Back to cold weather, yes, I do know how rough it can be in this weather *looks out to the level of snow outside his window, which the Fiction Fox Kit could probably disappear in...and only the top of Koopus's blue fuzzy head would poke out* But then, there are ways to take advantage of this *grins as he crushes up a snow ball...and gently pours the remnants down the koopa's shell, winking and sticking out tongue* Heehee!
