He is an anthropomorphic chiromaw that came to be through the chaotic magic of such a decayed plane of reality... His clothes, or the little coverage he considers clothing, were picked from a mage who was too impatient, having been shredded by the demons and monsters as soon as he stepped through... Chiro found the body, taking his banner, and the rags left on him, as well as a diary of sorts... his shawl is held together with a clasp made of a shimmerstone, his most valued possession.... but the portal is still open.....
