No, they expect the bus drivers to pay protection to each of the gangs who operate in Guatemala City. If a driver is thought to not be paying, or not paying enough, they will send out a gang member to shoot the driver dead. Quite often, the gangs will shoot a driver, then afterwards find out he was actually paying them. But the economy is so bad in Guatamala that another person will take his place within days anyway.

One of my close friends pulled a gun on me and I didn't realize it was fake, but I still thought it was real. X3 I burned out in reverse and slid onto an on-ramp getting to my friend's farm.

This reminds me! Bloodhawk nearly shot me at point blank with an air rifle once. We were camping in the woods and he had it in his hand as he was getting out of the tent. Anyway, as he was stepping out, it fired of its own accord and went right past the side of my face. XD Made a hole clean through both layers of the tent. I had good luck that day, methinks. That thing is bloody powerful, we were shooting depleted mini gas canisters at a distance and it would go right through them.

1.) Tell him to sit down
2.) Get the conductor to collect his fare
3.) If that doesn't work, you can always just hit the brakes and send him falling down the open door [mind you, that almost happened to me before, not pleasant]

Hehe, I fell off a bus too once... XD Back in the day when they had no back door and you could get on and off while they were moving... =P
