We yet again venture briefly into the uncharted land of Uluria where Jera stumbles upon a rather... loud inhabitant of the forest.

The Ulurian Opossum is a tree-dwelling marsupial native to Uluria. Its dentition heavily implies a carnivorous or insectivorous diet. It has a long, prehensile tail that is covered with thick and rough-textured skin, likened somewhat to shark skin. Likely this is a built-in defense against arboreal predators.
From initial observations, it would seem that the opossum's first line of defense when facing the unknown is to scream... very loudly. While the scream itself doesn't deal any damage (at least not to humanoids) it is definitely a highly unpleasant sound. The shrill and prolonged yelling is most likely used to force potential predators into retreat by sheer annoyance alone.
While further studies need to be conducted... the exploration team agrees that it can wait for another time.
