For a few years the only real artwork I was doing was making maps for the TRPGs that I was GMing. Unfortunately, with COVID the campaign kind of came to an end, but I'm still pretty proud of the work I did on these. All of my maps are drawn traditionally with ink.
Second map that I put together for my tabletop game. Conceptually the campaign concept is that there is a second world where all of the myths and legends are at least partially true. As such I used the names of many mythological places and developed them into full kingdoms that usually have some relevance to the myths that they are based on. The implication being that humans have visited these places in the past, but were only able to communicate back a small portion of what actually was there.
Taken from the King Arthur legend, the Avalon was an island that Arthur was taken to after becoming mortally wounded. In the game universe I created not only did he actually go to the magical island, but he was healed. Instead of returning back to Britain, he stayed and established a new kingdom centering on the island that he landed on. The island is actually located in that lake that is behind the compass although as time developed in the game that lake grew much larger in size compared to the scale suggesting.
Speaking of that scale, I realized the mistake of the 80 miles mark far too late. Both my players and I didn't notice it until after a few sessions had passed since I gave it to them.
This portion of the map contains the most eastern part of the kingdom and some of the surrounding area where the players have done most of their exploring.

The players never actually went there. They saw the name and avoided it. I did have plans of some monster based shenanigans if they did decide to go through as a shortcut though to avoid the roads. There was a point where they players tried to pass themselves off from Darkpass though (they had never been there) and they learned that the name was entirely ironic so that ended up failing on them.
