Forgive me, your Eminence, but this matter trumps the need for ceremony. Let me get to the point: this entity is something there have only been rumors and whispers of; fantastical mutterings by deep-space travelers, something that should not exist. Yet, we can see it ourselves beyond the observation port. See how it constantly shifts, an ever evolving parody of a buxom female. Extra eyes, mouths, faces, they all form and receed. New organs thrown out and then reabsorbed into the central mass.

There are no reports of anything like it save in some recovered pre-war texts, ancient tomes that spoke of amorphous things hurling themselves across space. It goes against all by beliefs but I cannot help but call this thing by the name given from those old texts:

'Shoggoth'.

My recommendation? Total containment, at least until I can understand it at bit more. I have reason to believe it absorbed someone's maid before capture, it seems to favor keeping that form and has even manifested parts of a maid's uniform from its own biomass. Despite the unsettling display I cannot conclude if it is malicious or simply docile, we know too little.

Use extreme caution, your Eminence, this entity is not to be taken lightly.
