It was yet another beautiful morning in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as Marcy opened the door to the class, excited as usual. Defense Against the Dark Arts was, after all, her favorite subject, far more interesting than Herbology or Potions, and she could never get enough of it. Charms were fun and useful, sure, but there was nothing quite like learning a good curse. She looked over the class and her fellow Slytherins talking between each other and the Hufflepuffs they befriended, and closed the door behind her smiling. As she was walking towards her desk and saying her hellos the professor came out of his office, carrying a stack of books bound in leather. Their eyes met and they both noded a greeting to each other with a smile. This was her favorite subject... and she was his favorite student. He enjoyed her aptitude for magic and her natural curiosity towards the dark arts, and found it refreshing to have a student not afraid of... experimenting with spells. In return she had the opportunity to learn spells far beyond the official curriculum and more than once had permission to go into the restricted section of the library, a privilege not many could boast about...

Ambition and resourcefulness, the good old Sorting Hat was right as always when it put Marcy in Slytherin...
