I always hated the rule, it seemed stupid when everyone knows where Anons and /b/ros come from.

As someone responded to my comment, there is a particular rule where you don't talk about Ebaums outside EBAUMS.

But again,you're just being stupid in this, so I think it's ok.

As a recommendation, I must point you to read more material, either at ED (watch out from the goatse you can find,though) or the place you want. You're what they call "newfag", so don't expect them to explain you anything...they will troll you just for the sake of it.

In my case,I don't say it out loud because of three reasons:
1. People can get a little paranoid if you say /b/. Even if you're just a lurker, people will think that you're a potential aggressive troll.
2. Everyone lurks Ebaums now, which makes it obvious were everything you say come from. Stating "ROFL I WAS AT /B/ WHEN THEY POSTED THIS" sounds stupid...everyone was at Ebaums.
3. Just for safety, I keep quiet where I lurk. But that's just safety dance.

So no,you're not stepping in dangerous ground,and it's all safe and you did nothing wrong. You're just new and newbies always make mistakes or don't know the rules (I didn't knew them until three months ago when a friend of mine told me,so get an idea)

i never even heard of Ebaums until you mentioned it. oh, and yeah, after i asked i felt kind of stupid and tried to read around and do some research. thanks for some of the info.
