The following morning, Remy woke up to find that it had snowed overnight. It was still coming down hard. His father told him that school was cancelled for the day.
The phone rang and Mr. Fox answered int. He handed it to Remy. It was Kyle. He, too, was overjoyed by the cancellation. He asked him if he wanted to go outside for a while. Remy accepted.
He put on his jacket and boots and got the tobbogan sled out of the garage. He couldn't wait to get outside.
It was cold and windy blowing in his face, but Remy wasn't bothered by it. He proceeded to Kyle's house. The snow was deep and crunchy under his feet.
When he arrived, Kyle was standing out front with Scott. They, too, had their sleds.
Kyle challenged them to a race down the hill. Remy and Scott accepted.
They went back around the back of the house and down by the steep hill.
They got on their sleds and waited.
"On your mark," said Kyle, "get set, go!"
They pushed forward and slid down the steep hill at a fast pace. All three friends held on tightly, trying not to capsize before reaching the bottom.
Scott reached the bottom first, followed by Kyle and Remy.
"Looks like I win," Scott smiled.
"You got lucky." said Kyle.
"Want a rematch?" asked Scott.
"I'm up to it. What about you, Remy? You up for another round?"
Remy smiled and nodded. "You bet."
"Way cool!"
They proceeded back up the hill, got back on their sleds and slid back down towards the bottom. Scott won again, but Remy came in second.
Scott smiled. "Still think I was lucky?"
"I don't know," said Kyle. "Maybe."
"Want to make sure it was for real this time?"
"You're on!" said Kyle.
Remy laughed as they headed back up the hill and proceeded for the next race back down.
