Horses are flight animals and thus constantly alert to whether predators are nearby. Desensitisation training can take away their fear of unfamiliar everyday situations, but even a plastic bag on the side of the road or a chestnut falling on the roof of the stable can startle them again.
I liked the idea of seeing my Friesian stallion Character portrayed in such a frightful way... perhaps still at a young age.
If he got spooked by predator, a ghost or another 'monster' like a yellow jacket that someone left near the stable box, I leave to your imagination ^^
