This was taken with my Canon Powershot on macro setting, at a distance of about three inches. This particular squirrel doesn't seem to mind my being there as long as he's got a nut to nibble on. :3

He was indeed sitting right in front of me. I managed to get the camera about three inches away to get this shot... I'm not sure why, but this little guy doesn't seem to mind my presence as long as he's got some nuts or birdseed to distract him. I was surprised that he let me get this close. :3

Every now and again, and for reasons that will only ever make sense to a squirrel, he lets me get in nice and close while he works on the nuts and seeds he gets from the backyard bird feeder. Other times, he dashes off as soon as I poke my head out the door.
