Another ground-squirrel in the service of a national military. This is an officer of the Coastal Artillery. They would be at an observation post, here watching the movements of any enemy naval vessels. In our world, this was an assignment for specialized units of the Army artillery, but in a ground-squirrel nation, perhaps this would be a land assignment for naval gunners?
They are not quite happy with what they see... perhaps its all that I read about coastal artillery on the morning of D-day, Normandy?
Design & art by Ken Fletcher in 1972; requested (with input) by Louis Fallert ("BluePetal"). Strongly influenced by the "Junkwaffel" anthropomorphic Lizard military, as seen in comic strips and art by Vaughn Bode, from the late 1960s, especially the 4 page comic strip: "The Junkwaffel Invasion of Kruppenny Island".
