So I already made lizard-socks 's character Brady. Rajani is his girlfriend, also a salincomorph, or a human who can shift into a human snail hybrid. However, she is in total denial of this reality, believing that she is totally hallucinating all of this, that for some reason she is imagining herself and her boyfriend turning into snails. Maybe she'll come around eventually, but even so, she is extremely anxious about this form, real or not.

I wanted to make Rajani very distinct from Brady. Some people remarked that my art of Brady looked like it could fit in an animated show, and thus you'd imagine in such a show, they'd want the characters to have unique designs.

What came to mind for Rajani was giving her freckle like spots all over her shell and body, and I think it did a lot to differentiate her. I also wanted one of her... antennae? Eye stalk things? (it's confusing when in this art style they don't have their eyes on them) - I made one of them kind of drooping. In working on this I'm also glad that in Brady's I decided to give him arms, as being able to have arms gave Rajani a nice discomforted pose.
