Born in southern Canada and then moved north. Responded to Salgir's message for help sent via local metacluster (?). Mother of Rakshe/White would not survive the birth, a heavy blow to her mate, but the cub survived and needed to be taken care of. Salgir not effortlessly found one lactating Sideress ready to take on another cub. Of course, not without your own benefit, after all, raising two cubs is much harder than one, no matter how kind your heart may be. So in return, Salgir provided the female with food and protection.
Of the supporters of Delferak (Salgir's father) took the decision of Sideress to accept someone else's cub, and besides, the bastard, to put it mildly, unflattering. She was considered a fool who had no idea what she was getting into; crazy, because she was not afraid to accept the offer of a perfect stranger and with a bloody family reputation of a male; vile, because as long as she is under the patronage of Salgir, she has nothing to fear from the sidelong glances of the discontented. In addition, she provided better conditions for her own biological son Korbo, the same age as Rakshe. Her mate turned out to be a rather windy guy and quickly slipped away, or maybe he just didn't know that Elsï was already pregnant when he decided to leave. It was not easy for such a medium-sized, very young female to feed and raise a cub alone. So part of the fact that she ''seized the chance'' is true, but she performed her duties as a foster mother properly and did not abuse Salgir's favor. Elsï was definitely cunning and smart.
